COAA PlanePlotter Overview
With this program, all the aircraft in your vicinity that are transmitting the necessary digital messages—such as HFDL, ADS-B, and ACARS—can be seen on a display that resembles a radar. It can interact with Google Earth to display aircraft positions over the base map of Google Earth if you get Mode-S ADS-B position reports.
If you specify the flight deck, it can even provide you with a dynamic, real-time image of the aircraft. With the use of a straightforward passive antenna switch, it can also identify and show the direction of any broadcast. It makes it possible to locate airplanes even when they lack ACARS or Mode-S/ADS-B.
Chart presentation
It decodes the communication traffic it receives and maps the locations, altitudes, and timings of the aircraft. ADS-B position reports received by the Kinetic SBS1 or AirNav System RadarBox Mode-S receivers, embedded position reports, AMDAR and ADS reports included in ACARS messages, and position reports on HF utilizing Charles Brain’s PC-HFDL software are a few examples.
The plot can be downloaded from satellite images and plot the aircraft symbols, or it can be placed on an appropriate aeronautical map that you have made. To differentiate between low-level and high-level communications, you can choose the data by altitude band when altitude information is available (such as Mode-S messages).
